Creatively, although I felt accomplished, I also felt rather lost, not sure why I was painting the way I was and also for whom? At first, I started painting landscapes to teach myself colour theory but soon was feeling like I was trying to make art that others would like, as I felt no one ‘got my art’.
I didn’t feel I was struggling with any given process but I was struggling with direction in my art and all aspects of my practice being a business. I now feel able to explore ‘my’ process and business – I now very much consider it a business rather than a hobby.
There were many eureka moments on my journey with Olivia, but the changes I’ve noticed in myself and my work since receiving her coaching are firstly a confidence in myself about why and how I create. I am very much exploring my processes, using materials I’ve not used in a long time, materials I’d never used and having ‘fun’ doing so. I no longer worry or care what others think about my work.
The moment I allowed myself to play again was massive, it opened my eyes and mind to the freedom it brings but has also led onto some amazing developments in what and how I’m creating. My self confidence is generally always on the high side and Olivia’s presence just bolstered this, and allowed me to think outside the box once again.
My art now has direction, my recent exhibition “Natural Duality”, was a cohesive body of work, presented and created with the same aesthetic. Unlike my previous exhibition, which was very pretty but had no direction or theme. A reoccuring comment was ‘are you the only artist?’
My mindset is now one of purpose and even more confidence. I have now granted myself permission to be myself, believe in myself and my art. The business side is still a slow burner as I’ve still a lot to do, website, etc. but I am focussed on it and moving forward everyday.
Results that I’ve seen and felt are of my efforts promoting myself, and my work having made significant progress. I am reaching more eyes than ever, increased followers and recently granted monetisation. Comments I’ve received both personally, online or in my visitors book have all been positive in my change of direction, my favourite was, ‘’Yeah your old work was good but not who you really are.’’
My feelings about my work and processes are sky high and I’m very excited as to what will unfold next: my new outlook on how and what I create. New materials and exciting prospects.

I AM FREE TO CREATE HOW AND WHATEVER I FEEL IS NECESSARY FOR MY PURPOSE.
Do it your way, do it with intent but most of all enjoy the process. Trust yourself and Olivia, she’s got your back 100%.
