I’m a multi-passionate artist and a coach to artists and creatives. I’m the woman whose creativity starts with the morning race of thoughts as I wake, dashing to my note book across the hall to jot down my ah-ha! ideas, obsessively rearranging shit around my house way too often because I believe that creativity is change, difference, inspiration and being the one who can make those weather small or large, I can use my house as the playground. I love exploring my different and diverse identities through what I wear and the words I use to describe each thought and feeling. I sketch absurdities to solve and calculate problems. I reach out to draw and paint to understand my views on the world around me. I fall into the depths of how paint shifts, to have a visceral, embodied relationship with mediums. 

I am obsessed with life drawing, because anatomy is everything to me, it reminds me of our existence and how we feel in this world. Yet always, always drawn to my humorous semi abstract work and then to challenge myself with turning it into installation art so that the viewer can become part of it.

The roots are my force

My roots with the art world have remained fierce and honest for over 30 years. I am now in my 40’s and I work independently as a coach for artists. I do this for me and for you, collaborating, inventing, processing and damn well enjoying my practice. Sometimes I do talks and interviews, sometimes I don’t but that is my choice. I am not obsessed with ego, I am not obsessed with sales, I am obsessed with the depth of the relationship artists can have with their work and then to show that to us – that is my obsession. 

Devon was my playground

I was raised in Dartington, in Devon in England, amongst the fields and free thinking and feeling. My parents were democratic teachers of languages, literature, and poetry. I was raised to question, to think deeply, to respect one’s emotions and to respond with care. I now fully live in this era once again, as a mother, a partner, a friend to many and coach to exceptionally brave and impactful clients. 

Nature delivers freedom

I continue to live in the countryside because nature is where my heart calms, my life opens and love is most powerful. But I didn’t always live in Devon and Cornwall. From the age of twenty-two I moved to France and continued my studies in art school in Nice for three years where I learned my most independent creative voice and power. Swiftly after I shot over to Geneva to do a post MA then into Berlin, accepting an invitation to be part of a residency for international artists. This journey of seeking place, love, connection continued throughout my young adulthood, breathing in different cultures, different perspectives, different types of agendas – buyers, collectors, museum directors, gallery owners, artists from famous too just stepping in. My world lived and breathed the fast rush of the art world over Europe. 

And then Love

And then I met the love of my life, my soul mate and we returned to our roots in the UK and created a family. I delved into teaching, mentoring, lecturing in the arts and now coaching – my passion for artists to become artists is endless and powerful.

How the hell did I become a coach to creatives and how the hell am I going to make your creative practice completely and utterly magnetic? 

Good question, I’m glad you asked…

Let’s start with – We need you and your art 

We need to feel the creative energy that you wander about with. We want to see your art. We need that shit in our lives, everywhere and in all formats, mediums, subjects and styles. Why? Because your art makes us feel. It makes us think. It makes us realise shit about the world and ourselves that no other thing that we interact with will ignite. 

Your importance and necessity is vital

It’s crucial. It’s the leading force of this revolution that we are living. What fucking revolution you say. The life we are living. This life where AI is threatening and inspiring creativity. This knife edge that we sit on. But listen up, the truth is you hold all the power and that power is you – your emotions, your capacity to generate unique, unpredictable, spontaneous life. And when you translate that into creativity the world breathes again. Humanity is saved. You saved us, you inspired us. You healed us. You made it all worth living. 

So yes, the task is huge

It’s a bitch most days because there are millions of hurdles and you alone must overcome, choose, prioritise, smash and all the while feel completely aligned and truthful to yourself. 

If that’s not a load to carry – then I don’t know what is!
